Once again, Dare 2b has nailed innovation and versatility with the Reverence Waterproof Jacket. First of all, the men’s athletic fit is just generous enough that it works well for men or women. We had multiple female testers, including myself, that would buy the jacket for themselves without hesitation. I found the jacket incredibly comfortable with great movement from the mesh and articulated elbows. It is listed as an all-weather jacket, but if you plan on spending an excessive amount of time cycling in extremely cold conditions, it’s worth your money to get a heavier, winter specific version as well. For those of us who go out less in the winter, layering with this windproof, waterproof jacket is just enough. The scrim-lined collar was a great touch for added comfort, and the taped seams and protected zippers were excellent at keeping out the wind and rain. I would have liked to see some thumb-holes for added wind protection in the cold, but it’s mostly a personal preference, and not a deal-breaker.

In addition to overall comfort, where the Reverence Jacket really shined for me was in safety. The placement of reflective details were well thought out, and the rear LED compatible window was an impressive touch, to all our testers. Any cyclist that rides in the winter will most likely have lights on their bike, but the option of an additional light on the rider is even better. For our triathlete tester, this feature increased her feeling of safety when brick training, “When I’m training in the freezing cold dark at 5:00am, I just need things to work—my equipment has to be simple. The Reverence Waterproof Jacket was great for riding and running without needing a change between…I LOVED the rear LED pocket, for added visibility when running in the dark!”

As always, Dare 2b scored high with our testers for good quality at a great price, and all of them commented that they would buy the Reverence Waterproof Jacket for themselves. One commented, “Solid buy, versatile cycling jacket. I could see myself using this jacket through every season…I also used mine for trail runs and could see this being a standard in my closet for some time.”
