CRAFT PXC thermal top

When it is cold, what do you wear?

CRAFT PXC thermal top

In cold weather the newest piece I reach for is the CRAFT performance XC thermal top. This top is a great multisport piece to cover the needs of biking, running, and cross country skiing. For me, this will be a great under a coat for snowboarding too.

The arm construction has extra fabric so you are covered all the way past the wrists. When I was trail running and swinging my arms the sleeves did not settle around the wrist they softly held on partially covering my lower palm, watch, and part of the back of my hand. The arms also have the contour construction so there is no bunching up in the elbows with bend from running trails or swinging ski poles. Just right around the shoulders and the neck is very secure and not too tight.

The mesh behind the neck zipper goes all the way down which is one of my favorite features.   When the zipper is open it is only about 2 inches apart. This allows excellent ventilation and the collar does not flop around. Changes in temperature throughout activity can easily be managed by simply zipping up or down. I can zip from the middle of the chest and up to keep the neck tight, or from the neck down. This dual zipping option provides perfect temperature adjustment with wind, getting colder as elevation increases, as the sun rises during a run. The inside is a very soft, brushed fabric that is comfortable. The fabric has the right stretch in all the right places. The vertical front zipper pocket allows for stowage and the back has 2 nice mesh pockets for additional storage.

The material on the lower back extends a bit further for full coverage on a bike and for the reach while cross country skiing. The silicone gripper on the bottom of the hem keeps this extra fabric in place. I was happy about this added feature with some very technical trail runs that if my arms lifted up a bit this top kept me covered.

If you want a great all around piece that will look and feel right for your multi sport activities check out the CRAFT PXC thermal top.
