Helly Hansen Lifa Merino Base Layer

As Christmas gets closer, the temperatures outside get colder and colder. There is no reason why that should stop us from getting into the outdoors, though. Yes it’s cold, but that just means we need to layer up. Helly Hansen Lifa Merino base layer is a perfect addition to any wardrobe for this cold season. The Helly Hansen Lifa Merino ½ Zip long sleeve top combined with the Lifa Merino Pant offers great comfort and warmth at a reasonable price.

The Helly Hansen Lifa Merino Max ½ Zip top as well as the Helly Hansen Lifa Merino Pant are both made using a 100% merino wool exterior combined with Lifa Technology interior. Merino wool is very good at wicking away moisture, so as you would imagine, this set wicks away moisture amazingly thanks to the added Lifa technology. All of the panels are stitched together using flat lock seams to insure an ultra comfortable, itch-free fit.

Helly Hansen Lifa Merino 1/2 Zip StyleThe Helly Hansen Lifa Merino Max 1/2 Zip offers a half zip, long sleeve design, comfortable for all occasions. The zipper is perfect to allow a little extra ventilation to help cool down on those warm days. Stripes have been added to the ends of the sleeves to enhance the look, I love it. The Helly Hansen Lifa Merino Pant is a very traditional base layer pant offering no special features other than their ability to keep you warm.

So how does the Helly Hansen Lifa Merino base layer set fair against other base layer sets? This set is very premium. I would consider this set just as good, if not better than any other base layer set on the market today. The Helly Hansen Lifa Dry Pant and Lifa T that I reviewed earlier this year was a great set for warmer temperatures, whereas, this set is better for colder temperatures. The material used in this Lifa Merino set is maybe 2 or 3 times thicker than the material used in the Lifa Dry set. I love the material used in this base layer. It is very soft, stretchy, and cozy. I have found that I love this base layer set so much that I often wear it to bed like pajamas. They certainly aren’t designed to be used as pajamas, but I think that helps emphasize the fact that they are very comfortable.

Helly Hansen Lifa MerinoI would highly recommend the Helly Hansen Lifa Merino Max ½ Zip and Helly Hansen Lifa Merino Pant to anyone looking for a cold weather base layer. If you have a desire to stay warm, then I have a feeling that you are really going to like using this base layer. I know I love mine.
