Paving the Future of the Sport of Triathlon
No doubt we’ve all heard about K-Swiss’ heavy involvement and 5 year contract with Ironman and if you haven’t heard the name Trek while looking for a bike, well, I just don’t think that’s possible.
To make matters even better these two powerhouses have teamed up to be seen as the premier triathlon team in the world, and will be bringing nine of the top international Ironman and Ironman 70.3 athletes together under the same umbrella.
The Trek/K-Swiss Triathlon Team hammers the point to the triathlon world that they are both invested in the finest athletes in the world. With more than 30 years experience, Trek, no doubt is an industry leader and K-Swiss has continued with a similar tradition of excellence expanding from classic tennis footwear to running footwear and apparel to enhance the performances of the world-class triathletes they support.
Says Erik Vervloet, the K-Swiss Sports Marketing Director: “Joining with Trek to put together this triathlon team is a very exciting venture for us. Trek has consistently been an industry leader in design and innovation and is always looking to move the needle in delivering the fastest bike available, anywhere. We strive to provide that same relentless focus on innovation in our footwear. Combine this partnership with some of the top triathletes in the world and you have a fantastic team. With the help of our athletes, we want to continue to push the envelope in developing the best triathlon products on the planet. We look forward to working together with Trek and are very proud of the team that we’ve put together. We believe that the results will speak for themselves.”
“We couldn’t be more excited about this partnership and what we believe it will bring not just to the athletes but to the sport of Triathlon,” said Trek Bicycle’s Road and Triathlon Brand Manager Nick Howe. “At Trek, we’ve long believed that working with the best athletes in the world is paramount in helping us to provide the best bicycle product available. To have an opportunity to partner with a team of this caliber and to work with a company as committed and innovative as K-Swiss is extremely exciting.”
