Adidas- Terrex Skyclimb Insulated Jacket

Run

With low-key styling, consistent with premium casual wear, Adidas has continued to keep the respect of the outdoor community by introducing the Terrex Skyclimb Insulated Jacket (retail $130.00). Why all the excitement? This mid-layer was proven by our tester to be more than just a pretty face. Hours in varying conditions while trail running and hiking in the mountains of Utah, enlightened our athlete to the overall quality of the brand: “I know Adidas Outdoor has been around for a while, but I was more familiar with their soccer division as a teenager. I have to say, it’s really good quality gear. It’s pretty clear that the designers spent a good amount of time in the outdoors, or utilized someone who does.”

“The four-way stretchable fabric and pre-shaped elbows allow for natural movement of the body and when layered, I could hardly feel it at all. Whether I used440 it as an outer layer for trail running or a mid-layer for snowshoeing, it adapted well to each sport, and at 12 ounces, it packed down nicely when not in use.”

Bodymapping technology was used to identify hot spots and sweat zones in key areas, where Adidas was able to vary the fabric to attain maximum comfort. The light, PrimaLoft® front panel provides insulation, and continues around the neck. Thumb holes prevent sleeves from riding up when layering and add another protection from cold winds. It’s the little details like this, that have earned the respect of those outdoors in the muck and snow.

When we asked our tester if there was anything that he would add or improve, he responded, “Honestly, I can’t think of a single thing. I would suggest adding a hood, but where it’s a mid-layer, I think you would have too many hoods by the time you’re wearing all your kit. The fit was right on with what I normally wear- really, It’s just a good solid piece that I’m grateful to have on hand.”

Finishing touches, like the draw-cord bottom, storm flap, hooded zippers and zip front pockets make the Terrex Skyclimb Insulated Jacket a great choice for outdoor spring training. They are currently available in men’s sizing, with women’s sizing to be available shortly.
