Luna Sandals – Mono 2.0
The Story of Luna Sandals
I was completely intrigued by the history of Luna Sandals. A simple story with captivating roots. In 2006, Luna’s Founder, Barefoot Ted traveled to the Copper Canyons of Mexico to run a 50 mile ultra-marathon with the legendary Tarahumara natives. While there, Ted met Manuel Luna who made Ted his first pair of traditional tire huarache sandals. That was the beginning for Luna Sandals.
What does huarache mean, you ask? It is a term to describe a leather-thonged sandal, originally worn by Mexican Indians. This straightforward design for sandals has been around for centuries, but with modern technology we often miss the simplicity around us. If sandals like these have worked for our predecessors for years, why wouldn’t they work now?
That’s just it. THEY DO. They are extremely comfortable and versatile. I am very happy with my Luna Sandals Mono 2.0. Mono in Spanish means Monkey so naturally these are awesome all-purpose sandals. These Luna Sandals are a go-to for every adventure. Whether you’re hiking, traveling, lounging, camping, running or anything else-ing, this is your go-to footwear. They are lightweight and easy to adjust. Luna has made a sweet video to help tailor them to your foot.
Okay, now I know what you’re thinking. How has Luna made the perfect sandal for every occasion? They have taken a proven design and made it that much better with today’s advanced technology. Not to mention they are made and manufactured right here in the U.S.A., Seattle to be specific. The Mono 2.0s are sandals I want to wear every day because they are lightweight and comfortable. Each sandal weighs 5.9 oz. Feels like you’re walking on air. The performance laces make all the difference when it comes to getting a custom fit for the Luna Sandals. They have excellent traction with their non-marking vibram morflex sole and monkey grip technology. If you like adventures and getting outdoors then Luna Sandals are for you.
Where will your Lunas take you?
