Montrail & Columbia Titan Ultra Shorts

This is more proof that the union of Montrail and Columbia is a really good thing.  These shorts are smooth breathable and go the distance.

Montrail & Columbia has created a good trail run specific option.  The shorts blend a balance of comfort and performance.  These trail running shorts have a built in liner.  The liner is supportive and smooth with great breathability.

These Montrail & Columbia shorts do not have a drawstring.  I thought this may be a problem and they would sag or fall out of place.  When running the shorts settle into the right position. This comfort has something to do with the internal snug boxer brief type liner.  It has stretch that blends smoothly with the stretch in the waistband.  The waist band is a little wider.  This is how it keeps everything in place.  This compliment makes the shorts tight enough to stay in place and flexible enough for dynamic movements.  The shorts really hold everything in place.

The back part of the waist band has 2 mesh pockets balanced next to a small zip pocket.  Perfect for an ID, Credit card, cash, keys, or energy gels.  The side mesh pockets have a little stretch.  The way these pockets are built makes it so the contents are secure.  Things do not jostle around excessively in these pockets.  We like the gray and blue color option.  Great for running in the sun and not heating up like most black shorts.

These shorts hold the stretch after multiple washings.  The material is light but durable.  The waist band is wide enough that the stretch doesn’t pinch. When I am running in the mountains I want support, comfort, and breathability.  The Columbia Trail shorts with attached inner linings delivers an amazing experience.  I would highly recommend these to any trail runner.

Check out the Titan Ultra Short for $60 it will handle the ultra distance.
