The NEW Salomon Sense Ride Trail shoe delivers more with less

Run

The Sense category has been an incredible option for discerning trail runners seeking a secure fit, sleek comfort, and adequate foot protection.  The Sense line focuses on less bulk in the overall construction with shaping focused on performance.  These shoes take in just what is necessary and nothing else.

The Salomon Sense RIDE is a NEW shoe releasing July 2017.  This is a great all around  trail runner with intricate shaping of your Salomon favorites.  Here are two standout features that are worth noting.

MIDSOLE

the Sense RIDE has the VIBE technology in the midsole.  This helps with cushioning but also gives a subtle rebound with each stride.  This cushioning is more generous to help with longer runs.  This special feature is noticeable after running over varied terrain.  The sole of the shoe is cushioned more in the midsole which gives increased protection on rocky paths.

TRACTION

The shoe has Wet traction Contragrip.  This minimal lug tread is amazing.  I was pleasantly surprised that it responds well compared to bigger treads.  With loose ground, sand, gravel, and even a little mud.  This is not the chevron tread of the Speedcross 4 but just right to go road to trail. I like the slimmed down tread.  This minimal tread makes for quick snappy movements with no drag. (see pic below)

OVERALL

I like the increased cushioning.  The shoe takes the secure fitting and performance of the Sense family and delivers a very responsive shoe.  The durability of the Salomon line is second to none.  The Salomon Sense RIDE delivers a more cushy ride with the sharp performance you expect from the Sense line.  This shoe is welcome in my quiver.

$120.00

8mm toe to heel offset

It is the shoe for the trail runner not so much the trail jogger/hiker.
