XTERRA Torrent HOKA limited edition collaboration

XTERRA Worlds are in Maui on Oct. 27th. While you dream about that event check out this amazing collaboration.

HOKA has joined forces with XTERRA to release a limited edition Torrent trail running shoe. The design is functional in varied terrain. It is ready to go right out of the box. Not chubby plush cushioning like many HOKA styles. The XTERRA Torrent is built to roll. Running up hill, Downhill, and flat the shoe responds perfectly to changing terrain.

OVERALL: This shoe is a Nuetral shoe with control. Traditional lacing and everything stays in place. The XTERRA Torrent has a low stack height for HOKA of 23mm and a 5mm offset. I really like it in gravel, sand, mud, and boulder hoping. The 9 ounce shoe packs everything without excess weight.

This is my first time testing a HOKA shoe. I am very impressed. I was pleased with the footbed and the size is spot on. I appreciate the extra sealant layered around the edge of the upper to keep things dry and durable. The tread is very strong. After more than 30 miles on the shoe 95% in the dirt and a little asphalt to and from the trail the shoe has great grip that is not showing any signs of wear or break down in the cushioning. The profile of the shoe is wider and broader in the sole. It flares out beyond the line of the upper. This is good for extra traction. If you want a minimal shoe this is not that shoe. The XTERRA race series is by far the dominant offroad triathlon series in the world. XTERRA has 38 races in 27 countries!!! So check out Worlds in MAUI on October 27th. XTERRA is known for their off road Triathlons, but they have 80 trail races around the globe.
